Coleus forskohlii (Willd.) Briq. (syn. Plectranthus barbatus Andrews)

Root extract of Coleus forskohlii — one of the few Ayurvedic herbs with a specific, pharmacologically defined single-compound mode of action. Forskolin activates adenylate cyclase, raising cyclic AMP (cAMP) intracellularly — a key signalling molecule in fat metabolism, thyroid hormone secretion, and cardiovascular function.
